I grew up in Queensland, and my journey to becoming a doctor went like this:

The School Days

  • Graduated as School Dux and Valedictorian, achieving the highest scores across all subjects studied (English, Maths C, Maths B, Chemistry, Physics, Biology)
The Uni Days
  • Accelerated Dean’s Scholars undergraduate science degree/research program (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology) at Queensland University of Technology
  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Deakin University, a medical school with a strong focus on equipping graduates with the skills and experience necessary to serve the unique health needs of rural and regional communities.
The Hospital Days
  • Prior to qualifying as a specialist with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), I worked at Gold Coast University Hospital and Prince Charles Hospital in Emergency Medicine, Paediatric Emergency, Cardiology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, and Psychiatry
  • General Practice training was completed at outer metro clinics across Queensland with a strong emphasis on chronic disease, paediatrics, and skin cancer medicine
Every Day is a Learning Day
  • Since then, I’ve undertaken further education with Stanford University, Harvard University, and the Australian College of Aesthetic Medicine (ACAM)
